Exciting News

Well it seems that I have been the victim of some comment spam, I thought I had turned on the Word Verification but it seems I didn't and now "I've got spam".

Not that it matters too much, just an annoyance.

I have some exciting news other than almost having my Albacore in the water. I will be launching an Albacore website with what I hope will be the most comprehensive information available on Albacores on the web. I've noticed that there is little information available on the albacore and I plan on remedying this with this website.

I am putting the finishing touches on the site design and then I will begin to ad content. Once I have some content ready for the site I will make the site live and announce it here. If you have any pictures, articles or stories that you would like to share, I encourage you to send me an email and I will ad it to the website with the appropriate credit of course!

The Mast has arrived!

Well I pulled into my driveway last night at about a quarter to ten with my wife only to find a large metal object sitting on the lawn. At first I didn't know what it was and as my wife was asking me what it was it dawned on me that it looked an awful lot like a mast. But it's a day early...

I seems that the kind Warner M decided to head to the Canadians a day early and he dropped the mast off. Unfortunately I wasn't home when he arrived. I'm a little disappointed that I missed him and that I didn't get to say Thank You in person. I am amazed that someone I don't know is willing to deliver a mast from the US via Ottawa.

I am so excited that the mast is here. If only I had a trailer I could be sailing this weekend. If only... Well the trailer will need to wait as I do have some very minor repairs to make on the boat. It seems that the glue used to hold the centreboard gasket (I think that's what it's called, I'll have to look it up) released and it will need to be reattached. There is also some very minor paint touch ups that will need to be done, that shouldn't take too long.

So now I am on the lookout for a trailer so that I can move my boat to and from the water. Unfortunately with gas prices the way that they are I don't know if I will be able to afford a trailer let alone the gas to move the boat around.

So back to the mast, my wife and I decided that the best place for the mast was in the shed (more like a 2 car detached garage) so in it went all of it except 3 or 4 feet. I couldn't believe it, the shed was too small. After some finding in the dark (no lights in the shed yet) we just got the mast in the shed on an angle. I am going to have to figure out a better solution because I can't get anything in or out of the shed with the mast where it is right now.

I am sure that this winter will now be a long one because I now have everything for my boat. The next step is to find someone that needs the smaller mast and boom that I have that fits some unknown boat.
