Exciting News
Well it seems that I have been the victim of some comment spam, I thought I had turned on the Word Verification but it seems I didn't and now "I've got spam".
Not that it matters too much, just an annoyance.
I have some exciting news other than almost having my Albacore in the water. I will be launching an Albacore website with what I hope will be the most comprehensive information available on Albacores on the web. I've noticed that there is little information available on the albacore and I plan on remedying this with this website.
I am putting the finishing touches on the site design and then I will begin to ad content. Once I have some content ready for the site I will make the site live and announce it here. If you have any pictures, articles or stories that you would like to share, I encourage you to send me an email and I will ad it to the website with the appropriate credit of course!
Stay turned for an announcement regarding the launch of the website!
That's all and Happy Sailing

I would disagree that there is "little information" on the web. The class websites have alot of info, although some of it requires membership in your national association.
In particular, I'd check out the US site: http://www.albacore.org/usa/
the Canadian site:
http://www.albacore.ca
the UK site
http://www.albacore.org.uk/
the USA forum
http://www.albacore.org/forum/
the UK forum
http://www.albacore.org.uk/Discuss/forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=2&PN=0
Which isn't to say that I want to discourage you from putting up a site, just be aware of what's already out there.
P.S. If you join the CAA you can get access to all the password protected areas of the US site.
Thank you for the comments and the links. I stand corrected. I guess what I meant to say, or should have said, is that there is not a lot of easily found information on the Albacore, especially for someone who is new to the class or is thinking about getting an Albacore.
I found that the biggest problem I had when I got my Albacore, was the lack of available information. I want to make sure that everything about the boat is available to whoever wants it, that it is easy to find, and is centrally located.
The information on the sites above are great and I am sure the information on the membership areas is even better, but that "protected" information doesn't help me learn about, repair, or setup my boat as I am not a member of my class association. Am I saying that the membership areas should go away or be opened? No way, I think membership should have, and needs to have it's privledges. But I believe in the free flow of information, and I feel that there should be a great site, that provides the newcomer to the Albacore with all the information they need to setup and enjoy their boat.
I guess I am building the site that I wanted a few years ago when I first got my boat, and the site I want now. Perhaps if this site had existed when I first got my boat, I wouldn't have made the mistakes I made and the boat might have been on the water by now.
I hope that this site when it's ready to go it will be used and accepted by the Albacore community both new and old.
