It's time...

It's time...

I can't believe the summer I had. I started the summer at a new job and found a co-worker that took a deep interest in sailing after they found out I had a boat.
"It was something they've wanted to learn" and wanted to know if I could teach them. I told them that I didn't have a proper fitting mast for the boat so
I couldn't teach them or even take them sailing. This request spurred me to find a mast and boom, which I have tried in the past with no success.
This summer was different though, I found a mast and boom in very short order and for a price I could afford. So I went for it and now in my garage/shed sites
a awfully large mast and a boom hung on the wall. I had hoped that I might be able to get sailing this summer but I still have no means of transportation
for the boat. Now the summer is long gone and winter is quickly approaching so reluctantly it is time to cover the boat and bed it down for the winter.
I have been in denial about winters encroachment until last night, as I stepped onto the deck I felt my feet slide out but with some quick Canadian ice-o-batics
I was able to maintain my footing with very little muscles pulled (a feat to be admired in my books anyways).
So before things get to much worse I have decided that this is the weekend to cover the boat. It is a bitter sweet time, bitter because another sailing season
has gone by without so much as a puff of wind in my sails but sweet because I know I am one small step from getting out sailing whenever I want.

I hope everyone had a great summer of sailing and I'll see you on the water!
